Forest Pavilion
A timber house on slender columns, built without felling a single tree on the site.

The site was a steep slope of birch and pine. Instead of levelling it, we set the house on twelve slim steel columns and threaded it between the trees. The glass walls slide fully open in summer, turning the main room into a covered deck.
Prefabricated timber panels were carried in by hand, so no heavy machinery ever reached the site.
