Designing for daylight

In Bergen the sun barely clears the mountains in December and hardly sets in June. We study each site through the whole year before deciding where the windows go.

• Kitchens face east for morning light.
• Living rooms face west for long evenings.
• Stairs are lit from above, so they glow on grey days.
